Dr. Tom Bradicich, VP of engineering and servers for HP’s Enterprise Group, is on stage with ARM’s president of products group, Pete Hutton, at #ARMTechCon for the opening keynote. Bradicich says that on Nov. 1, HP will introduce its ARM Software Development Program for enterprise class applications.
Bradicich was just about to head off stage but added “just one more thing” a la Steve Jobs: HP is introducing two HP enterprise-class ARM servers and will be demonstrating 64-bit apps on the show floor. The new server board connects to the HP Moonshot chassis, which Bradicich says is “graduating the ARM architecture into real products.”
And now Bradicich has just invited onto the stage Dr. Jim Ang from Sandia Labs, who is one of the first customers for the HP servers. Sandia developed and co-designed HPC capabilities with HP.
HP has a press conference scheduled for 1:30 in the Expo Theater to talk more about this.
