One of Time Magazine’s 100 “World’s Most Influential People,” Erica Kochi, Innovation Officer for UNICEF, will be keynoting ARM TechCon 2014. Kochi’s keynote is on Friday, Oct. 3, at 9:30 am.

A world-famous technology innovator, Kochi co-founded and co-leads UNICEF’s Innovation Unit and is the senior innovation advisor to UNICEF’s executive director. The Innovation Unit supports UNICEF’s 135 country programs in the practical application of design and technology to strengthen international development outcomes.

Kochi’s keynote will address how raising awareness that “deploying cell phones into undeveloped countries isn’t enough,” and that there are supporting technologies and infrastructure needed. She’ll discuss how that represents both an opportunity to do good, as well as real business opportunities.

Kochi will provide details on how innovation labs and other efforts in the technology industry are raising awareness for real technical solutions throughout the world. ARM and UNICEF are already working together on technology projects such as Literacy Bridge, SimPrints, and others. Attendees will learn how their contributions to the technology industry can have real-world impacts beyond mere business outcomes.

In addition, Kochi will highlight four major themes that UNICEF is championing through technology: the future of money; identity (the intersection of social and official); transportation and mobility; and wearable technologies for social good.
