So I’ve been entered into this wildly competitive challenge of endurance and stamina called the ARM TechCon FitBit Step Challenge, in which the couple of dozen competitors are all wearing FitBits at ARM TechCon and are being tracked on the show floor via a real-time monitor to see who can pile up the most steps over the first two days of the conference. I’m learning that when this competition took place earlier at DAC that the smack talk got pretty serious on social media, and this year is no different. In addition to a few taunting tweets, there have already been some creative YouTube videos proclaiming early victory.

Unless any of my co-FitBitters wants to jump on the ARM TechCon blog to say otherwise, I’m declaring myself the winner this year because I rarely lose a competition. I won’t be daunted by the knowledge that the winner at DAC walked the equivalent of 10 miles each day. I’m an insomniac, and while my colleagues are counting sheep, I’ll be counting my steps as I continue my journey up the leaderboard through the wee hours of the morning.

Track the progress of the competition yourself at (sorry, WordPress is refusing to hotlink the URL), and maybe next year you can get in on the action.
